Stichting Long Covid is a foundation dedicated to financing and stimulating biomedical research into the causes and treatment of long-term COVID-19 symptoms. We are proud to support this cause, given our personal connections to people impacted by long-term COVID-19 symptoms.

Stichting Long Covid sets itself apart by focussing its efforts on financing and fundraising for biomedical research. We believe research in this area is very important.

So how did Marketing Engineers help Stichting Long Covid?

At Marketing Engineers, we specialize in technical marketing so this has been, and is, our focus area when helping them. We began with a technical SEO scan of their website to identify any glaring issues and create a list of opportunities for improvement.

1) Search Engine Optimization for a greater online presence

We conducted a targeted technical SEO audit of Stichting Long Covid’s website focusing on identifying key areas for improvement.. Once these were identified, we assigned their corresponding priority, we presented our findings and indicated areas of improvement. SLC’s team immediately went to work and took care of correcting the most important improvements, thereby improving the search engine visibility of their website.

As a Dutch entity, Stichting Long Covid must comply with GDPR regulations and present users with a functional cookie consent banner. Therefore, we implemented a Cookiebot consent banner (we are a Cookiebot partner!) and configured it to align with the data collection efforts done by Stichting Long Covid. The goal of any cookie banner, of course, is to provide a clear and detailed account of how the organization uses cookies and handles visitor data allowing visitors to make an informed choice: to accept or decline the cookies. After we set up the Cookiebot consent banner we ensured Stichting Long Covid complies with Google Consent Mode requirements and is all set to start with Google Ads, if they ever desire to do so.

3) Google Tag Manager implementation

To gain valuable insights into user behavior, we implemented Google Tag Manager (GTM) to track user interactions across the website. By setting up specific tags and triggers we developed a comprehensive tracking strategy that allows us to collect data that in the future can be used to identify opportunities for improvement. We strongly believe any company should have tracking set up professionally, as the data collected can be leveraged for in-depth analysis and data-driven decision-making. By analyzing the trends shown in this data, we’ll be able to gain a clear understanding of user behavior and implement improvements that enhance the overall website experience.
