Profile: Analytics Engineer

This is a pivotal senior role for a professional who thrives on executing highly technical implementations while being sensitive to clients’ business context and accommodating to their level of expertise. The ideal candidate is a natural organizer and people-person who complements our existing deep technical expertise. They will take ownership of client projects, mentor our talented junior and medior team members, and play a key role in building the operational foundation of our company.

Primary focus & responsibilities

The role is built on three core pillars:

  1. Client & Project Leadership:

    • Act as the trusted advisor for a portfolio of clients, managing expectations and ensuring project success from start to finish.
    • Lead the execution of client-tailored, high-value projects, such as:
      • Server-side Google Tag Manager configurations
      • Advanced integrations of tracking systems
      • State-of-the-art setups of customized data warehouses focusing on scalability and security
    • Confidently manage relationships with both large enterprise stakeholders and agile SME teams, with the opportunity to specialize in a client type that best suits your preference.
  2. Team Mentorship & Culture:

    • Serve as a mentor and guide for our junior and medior team members, fostering their professional and personal growth.
    • Coach the team on soft skills and client communication, while taking the lead in project management to ensure clarity and success.
    • Bring a positive, can-do, and social energy that strengthens not only our collaborative project work but also our internal team culture and atmosphere.
    • Act as a supportive leader who the team feels comfortable approaching for guidance on your areas of expertise and for feedback on the client projects you work on together.
  3. Operational Partnership:

    • Co-pilot the business by building our operational foundation. You will take the lead in professionalizing our operations—designing the processes, structure, and systems that will allow us to scale our impact without sacrificing quality.

Experience & skillset

  • Technical Experience & Mindset:
    • Required Fundamentals: You have proven, hands-on experience with at least one major cloud infrastructure platform such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS) and you would not hesitate to wield SQL and Python as your primary weapons to answer client’s questions. You possess a fundamental understanding of computer systems and have a firm grasp on database systems. But most importantly, you are not afraid to learn about and dive into new technologies and love to overcome challenges that you inevitably encounter along the way.
    • Valued Expertise (A Plus): While not required, experience with big data systems commonly used for marketing data such BigQuery or Azure Synapse would be a significant advantage. Previous experience with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4 and PostHog would also be a huge plus, just as previous experience with APIs of major ad platforms such as Google Ads API or LinkedIn Advertising API.
